Your special day at SUMC

Our Sanctuary

Hundred year-old hand-carved wooden pews on the sanctuary floor and in the balcony can comfortably seat 150.

Two aisles give the bridal party several options for entering and exiting the church. The original steeple bell can be rung for the new couple as they exit the sanctuary.

A comfortably furnished parlor serves as the bride’s room inside the entrance to the sanctuary.

Classic stained glass windows adorn both sides of the church and provide beautiful backdrops for photography.

Having a wedding at SUMC

music

The sanctuary boasts a grand piano and a two-manual digital computer organ. Arrangements can be made with Senoia UMC’s church organist to accompany the ceremony, or he can work with your musician to plan appropriate music.

Approved recorded music can be played through the building’s sound system, and microphones are available for both ministers and musicians. A church representative will coordinate use of the amplification system.

Facilities

A Meditation Garden is located beside the church, and seasonal flowers contribute much to the beauty of the yard. This area can also serve as the setting for an intimate outdoor ceremony.

The church’s Fellowship Hall can accommodate 60-80 people, and the side yard offers picnic tables and a shaded lawn for spring, summer, and fall weddings. There are many venues in the general vicinity of Senoia where larger receptions can be held.

facility rental

The church’s worship and events calendar must be considered as weddings are scheduled.

Couples can work with the SUMC Wedding Director to select dates for the ceremony and rehearsal, and your deposit reserves the church up to one year in advance.
