A Message from the Pastor
Hello Senoia UMC! I am Rev. Ashley Jenkins and I will become your pastor in June. I am thrilled and excited! I have heard so many wonderful things about the ministry and mission of SUMC! I look forward to learning even more and joining you in the journey of our faith. Please be in prayer for me as we move and I will be in prayer for you. I know I have big shoes to fill with Erik! He is a wonderful preacher and pastor!
I am currently appointed at the North Georgia United Methodist Conference Office where I work in the Office of Ministerial Services. My primary responsibilities are to work with candidates for ministry. I have worked at Dunwoody UMC as an associate pastor for five years and while in seminary I worked at McKendree UMC as youth director.
I attended LaGrange College where I met my husband Trey. After undergraduate I attended Emory’s Candler School of Theology where I received my Masters of Divinity. In addition, I received a Women in Theology and Ministry certificate. I have enjoyed serving the church and beyond in several positions. I twice served as a summer missionary in Zambia and have served as the young adult chairperson for North Georgia Conference.
My passions include my faith, preaching, art, and missions. I love creating paintings based on scripture verses and devotionals. My husband Trey is the Medication Safety Officer for Wellstar Healthcare system. We love taking our two Shih Tzus (Jesse and Tucker) on walks. I'm sure you will see us walking around Senoia. If you do, stop and introduce yourself! We also have a precious one year old niece (Cara) and a three year old nephew (Luke) that we adore.
I look forward to meeting you, getting to know the congregation, and living in Senoia.
