Please Pray For Our Christians In Action Team

On Tap for This Summer:

The CIA Team (Christians in Action) has planed three Family Mission events for the upcoming months. Everyone in the church is encouraged to participate!

  •  Family Mission Day, will be on Sunday afternoon, May 19, when we’ll be going to the I-58 Mission in Senoia. We’ll take a tour of the facility and then also help with needed things at the mission site.
  •  CANCELLED: Family Mission Day to the UMCOR (United Methodist Committee on Relief) Warehouse in Eastpoint, GA on Saturday, June 15.  Due to a death in the family of an UMCOR staff member, this trip has been cancelled.
  •  Family Mission Night on Wednesday night, July 17. We’ll have a covered dish meal and then pack up items for Backpack Buddies. The Backpack Buddies will be taken to the Backpack Buddies of Coweta County for distribution to the children upon the start of school. This was a HUGE hit last summer after the VBS kids collected lots of food items and then we all bagged them up!

Each and all of these Family Mission events are open to all members of the church and community. You can be a family of 10, 4, or 1. Everyone is welcome to join in on the fun! Mark your calendars now.

Throughout the year Senoia UMC is involved in many outreach and mission opportunities.
2019 Christians in Action activities include:
  • Easter Egg Hunt
  • Memorial Day Parade
  • Lattice Tree School Supply Collection
  • Cruisin' to the Oldies Car Show
  • First Responders Appreciation Luncheon
  • Fall Festival/Trunk or Treat - Ambassadors: October
  • Stay tuned for other activities!
Christians In Action seek to provide opportunities for our church to not only be hospitable in how we reach out and welcome new people to the church, but also how we go out into the community to serve others to share the Good News of Jesus Christ.

They work hard to identify and support opportunities for our church to be involved in ministries in our conference, our country and around the world in the name of Christ. Some projects might include mission trips, working with and at UMCOR in Alabama and others, Backpack Buddies, and Rise Against Hunger (fka Stop Hunger Now). We also support La Senda, a school and orphanage located in Guatemala.
